511 Kinderheim is the eleventh episode of the anime.

Summary[]

Tenma learns that Johan used to be in an orphanage known as Kinderheim 511, where he meets an injured boy named Dieter and a former East German official named Hartmann who used to work there.

Synopsis[]

Tenma visits the former Liebert residence in Berlin to find more about the Lieberts. He ends up talking to a former East German official who tells him that the Lieberts adopted twins from Kinderheim 511.

Tenma finds Kinderhem 511, which now is a derelict building. Further investigation leads Tenma to former East German Minister of Health Hartmann apartment. On his way there, Tenma finds a kid who is hurt. Tenma treats him and then lets him go.

Tenma visits Hartmann at his place and learns that an incident ocurred at Kinderheim 555, but when he asks Hartmann about it, he changes the topic and talks about the twins. Hartmann tells that Anna was sent to another orphanage but that he knew Johan very well. He also tells that Johann led a revolution in Kinderheim 555.

The kid Tenma met before, Dieter, arrives home and Hartmann invites Tenma for dinner.

After leaving Hartmann's apartment, Tenma sees a football ball in a stores and buys it as a gift for Dieter.

Back at Hartmann's house, Tenma learns that Dieter has been severely beaten by Hartmann. Tenma draws his gun and points it to Hartmann, then leaves with Dieter for a hospital.

Tenma leaves Dieter in the hospital and goes searching for an orphanage where Dieter can stay. The orphanage is the same where Anna was sent when she was a child. There Tenma learns from Erna Tietze, that the twins were found wandering alone at the Czechoslovakian border.

Tietze also reveals the true nature of Kinderheim 511 as an East German experimentation laboratory.
