I'm Back is the sixty-seventh episode of the anime.

Synopsis[]

In the burned ruins of the Red Rose Mansion, Johan describes to Nina his childhood abduction from the Three Frogs and the day of the mansion massacre.

Summary[]

Johan tells Nina the story about the experiment that happened at The Red Rose Mansion. He says that he was taken away from the Three Frogs to the mansion and placed in a dark room under observation by Franz Bonaparta.

Johan then recalls wandering around the mansion the day that the 46 people were murdered. Every one of them drank the wine while celebrating their new achievement -the success of the eugenics experiment- and died, except for Bonaparta. Then, Johan ran to the Three Frogs and was welcomed by Nina.

Tenma arrives to the abandoned house and finds Nina pointing a gun to her head, then he calms her down. Nina tells Tenma it was actually her who has subject to the experiment and not Johan. Johan, dressed as Anna, received her, and asked her to tell him everything. Johan took Nina's experiences and made them their own.

Tenma recomforts Nina. Peter Čapek arrives to the house and tells that Johan probably went looking for Franz Bonaparta to kill him and wonders if that would put an end to all of this. Čapek leaves the building, questioning himself about what were they trying to create. Suddenly, he is shot by one of her bodyguards in retalaition for killing another bodyguard earlier while driving to his house, and dies.

Johan visits Horst Grossman, one of his hitmen, and kills him after telling him that he knows of the place where he should go.

  • In Johan's/Anna's flashback, when people at The Red Rose Mansion are served wine, the logo at the bottle resembles to emblem of the Third Reich. Maybe hinting the cruelty of both Bonaparta's experiment and Nazi Germany.
