Journey to Freiham is the twentieth episode of the anime.

Short Summary[]

Tenma and Dieter hitch a ride with a former police officer and his wife.

Summary[]

On their way to Freiham, Tenma and Dieter hitchike with a couple of English travelers. They learn that Mr. Jones is a retired police officer. Mr. Jones is constantly asking questions to Tenma and seems suspicious about him.

The car where they are traveling runs out of fuel. Tenma and Dieter catch a ride on a truck to a nearby station while Leia and Mr. Jones stay with the car. Both of them argue about whether Tenma will come back to help them or not. At dusk, Tenma and Dieter come back with fuel for the car.

The next day, Mr. Jones drives to a police station. Tenma gets nervous he might be discovered. Then, they travel to Steinbach Castle and Mr. Jones tells Tenma that his son killed a man and that the reason why they travelled to Germany was to visit their son in prison.

The Jones leave Tenma and Dieter in Freiham and they continue their journey. Later, Mr. Jones reveals to Leia that Tenma is a wanted criminal, suspect of multiple homicides and how he saw his picture in a wanted poster at the police station.

Mr. Jones tells his wife that he is certain that Tenma is innocent. The Jones visit their son in prison.
