Mansion of Tragedy is the seventh episode of the anime. It covers the events of chapters 13 and 14 of the manga.

Summary[]

Dr. Tenma and Nina arrive at a gruesome scene, finding the Fortners and a journalist dead. Anna's confession of shooting Johan brings back memories.

Synopsis[]

Tenma and Nina arrive to the Fortner's house to find both Nina's foster parents and Jacob Maurer dead. Shortly afterwards, two cops, Detective Messener and Detective Müller arrive to the scene to inspect the place and then they ask Tenma and Nina to go with them to the police station.

On their way to the station, Tenma suspects of the two cops. Then he sees some blood in Detective Messener's clothes, doubting if they are even policemen. At a checkpoint, Tenma tells the cops Nina needs some fresh air. So they go out of the car and escape by jumping into a river.

Tenma and Nina find a cabin in the forest, where Nina tells Kenma how Johan asked her to kill him. Then Nina blames Tenma for saving Johan which resulted in Mr. and Mrs. Fortner being murdered. Tenma goes back into the city.

Tenma learns that Detective Messener and Detective Müller were real cops. Heidelberg Police reveals that another murder has ocurred at the Heidelberg Castle and that the suspect is a Japanese man. Inspector Lunge visits the murder scene at the castle and finds Tenma's tie.

Tenma comes back to the cabin and finds Nina is gone.
