Short Summary[]
Tenma visits Dr. Gillen, a former rival, for help in understanding Johan. Dr. Gillen initially turns Tenma over to the authorities, but changes his mind after consulting with a prisoner who provides evidence of Johan's existence.
Summary[]
Rudy Gillen, a criminal psychologist interviews Peter Jürgens, a convicted serial killer whose crimes also involve a sexual component. Jürgens' last victim, 52 year-old Hanna Kemp, breaks the pattern, since all of Jurgens' victims were between 16 and 18 years old and there was no sexual assault. Jürgens tells that he killed Kemp at request of a friend.
Tenma visits Gillen, who he knows from school, to show him Johan's messages. Tenma also explains to Rudy how Johan killed the three doctors at the Eisler Memorial Hospital, and now is killing all his foster parents. Tenma tells Gillen that he needs to stop Johan. Gillen, who thinks that Tenma suffers from dissociative identity disorder, contacts the police who ask him to meet with him at Oder Park so they can arrest him.
After interviewing Jürgens again, Gillen goes to Mrs. Kemp's house, where he finds several letters containing the messages from Johan that Tenma showed him earlier, proving that Jürgens' friend - Johan - indeed exists. Rudy concludes that Johan and Jürgen's friend might be the same person.
Tenma and Rudy meet at the park, where they mix in with the crowd. Gillen tells Tenma that he believes he is innocent. Gillen then gives Tenma a bus ticket, helping him successfully evade the police.

Trivia[]
- Jürgens might be based on Edmund Kemper, an American serial killer who also targeted young girls. Even the looks are similar.
