Naoki Urasawa (
Biography[]
As a child, Urasawa admired Osamu Tezuka's comics and copied them down many times. He was also a highly artistically sensitive child, and realized outright that some cartoons were drawn by different teams each episode or which cartoons had the same animators.
Despite this, he did not follow an art career and went for a career in Economy instead. He graduated from Meisei University with a degree in economics.
Urasawa became a mangaka by accident. He had an interview scheduled with Shogakukan and showed them some of his work, then "one thing led to another", as he explains.
