The Fugitive is the eighth episode of the anime. It covers the events of chapter 15 of the manga.
Summary[]
Dr. Tenma returns to work at a hospital in Dusseldorf, but is forced to flee when the police suspect him of killing an elderly couple in Verden. Meanwhile, Eva pleads with him to take her back.
Synopsis[]
Inspector Lunge visits Eva at his residence to asks her if she knows anything regarding the tie found at the Heidelberg Castle crime scene.
Eva visits Tenma at the Eisler Memorial Hospital trying to make up. Tenma rejects her and Eva tells him how she protected him from the police and that if he stays with her she will not say a thing to Lunge. Tenma rejects her again and Eva threatens to go to the police.
Eva goes to Lunge and explains everything. Lunge asks to bring Tenma to the police station for the Heidelberg Castle murder. At the same time, Tenma resigns from the hospital.
The police arrives to the hospital looking for Tenma who is wanted for murder, but Tenma manages to escape in an ambulance.
Five months later, Tenma is seen hitchhiking to Verden. Now carrying a gun.
