After inspecting the fire scene, Lunge decides to visit Hans Georg Schuwald at the hospital to interrogate him about the incident. At the hospital, Lunge is not allowed to interview Schuwald. Lunge learns that, after the incident, Johan had vanished and starts thinking that he indeed is real. Back at the hospital, Lunge questions Schuwald after the incident and shows him of picture of Tenma, stating that he is the one who tried to kill him. Karl stops Lunge. Later, Lunge learns that a man matching Tenma's description was at the library helping people and that a Nina Fortner was among the persons taken to the hospital after the fire. When Lunge goes to Johan's room, he is already gone.

Schuwald asks Karl to go to Dresden and deliver a message to a man that will be waiting for him there.

With help of Dr. Reichwein and Dr. Gillen, Nina tries to recover her memories involving "a town straight of a fairytale" and "the tree frogs". Nina figures it out and decides to leave. The next morning, Dieter follows Nina telling her he will go with her.
