Synopsis[]

The new police chief suspects Suk's involvement in the recent corruption and has him followed; Suk and Grimmer meet and finally use Petrov's key.

Summary[]

The new police commissioner, Commissioner Nepela, orders to put a tail on Detective Suk, since he is suspicious about Suk's involvement in the corrupt police officers deaths. Suk meets Grimmer at the Old Town Square. They talk about Inspector Zeman's murder investigation and about what is stored at the safety box whose key is with Suk. Grimmer tells Suk that someone is watching them and that they should leave. Grimmer has a flashback of the blonde girl and senses seeing her in the square. Johan is revealed to be sitting on a table close to them.

Suk and Grimmer check the contents of the box: some files and a cassette tape. They play the tape, which is the recording of an interview of a drugged Johan while in Kinderheim 511. In the interview, Johan recites a part of Obluda and tells the story of how he and Anna crossed the Czechoslovak border. Grimmer stops the tape after having memories of Kinderheim 511. Grimmer and Suk depart. Suk keeps the tape and Grimmer asks him for his phone number and address so he can reach him again.

At his apartment, Suk finds two detectives, Detective Novák and Detective Zander, who question him about his meetings with Mikhail Petrov. After searching his apartment, they find a packet of bombons and a tube of chemicals. The detectives tell Suk that they need to take him to the police station. Suk asks them to let him go to his bedroom to change his clothes.

Sensing something might be wrong, Grimmer rushes to Suk's appartment. While climbing the stairs, Johan, dressed as Anna, passes him on his way down. Grimmer runs to Suk's apartment, where he finds Suk standing terrified and the two detectives dead.
