The Monster of Chaos is the thirty-sixth episode of the anime.

Synopsis[]

Dr. Reichwein confronts Schuwald about Johan. Reichwein and Lunge both head to the library to stop Johan, while Lotte confronts Nina about her true identity.

Summary[]

Dr. Reichwein visits Hans Georg Schuwald to tell him everything about Johan. He tells him that Johan did all the killings in order to isolate him, so he could get to his heart. Schuwald does not take any action, but already suspects that Johan was trying to take over his business.

Tenma wakes up at the library the day of the ceremony, ready to kill Johan. Schuwald and Karl arrive to the ceremony, but Schuwald asks Karl to retrieve a document that he left at his study, so Karl leaves the library.

Rudy Gillen confronts Inspector Lunge about the investigation and asks him to check on Johan, who works as Schuwald's secretary. Gillen tells that Johan is the real serial killer. Lunge tells Gillen that the investigation is going well and that Johan indeed exists, in Tenma's head.

After learning that Tenma bought a sniper rifle, Lunge tries to think as Tenma to try to figure out who is going to be his target. Lunge deduces that Tenma's target is Schuwald.

At the ceremony, Tenma is getting ready to kill Johan.

Lotte meets Nina at the train station because she is leaving Munich. There, Lotte tells Nina that she has found out that she and Johan are twins. Lotte shows Nina a copy of the picture book that Johan was reading when he fainted. Nina looks at the book, which triggers a memory of the night when she shot Johan.
